From March 28 – April 2, 2016, the Columbia Memorial Space Center launches a weeklong, community-focused celebration of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) called the City of STEM. During this week, the Space Center will present STEM programming throughout the community of Downey, CA, engaging diverse audiences at various locations in the city. From programs aimed at young families in an historic diner to programs aimed at young adults in a hip night spot, the City of STEM aims to reintroduce the Space Center to the community it serves, build a relationship to its audience and begin to establish the Center as the hub of science learning experiences throughout the Southern California region.
Wait but we’re not just done yet! Keep a tab on us as we hold more events all month of April. You don’t want to miss out!
