Astronomy club open to aspiring astronomers and space enthusiasts throughout the Greater Los Angeles!
With monthly meetings based at the Columbia Memorial Space Center in Downey, annual members and the general public are invited to expand their knowledge of the universe, share their love for the night sky, and talk all things astronomy. Meetings cover topics including telescope building, astronomical phenomena, and objects in that month’s night sky. Special guest speakers are also regularly invited to lead discussions on topics of their expertise.
Following every monthly club meeting, telescope viewing is set up for members and meeting attendees in front of the Columbia Memorial Space Center. Telescopes owned by the Columbia Astronomers are available for use, but everyone is encouraged to bring their own telescopes to view and practice with!
In addition to monthly meetings, Columbia Astronomers attend outreach events at local schools and related events, as well as overnight outings.
