The Columbia Memorial Space center has teamed up with the Mars Society of Los Angeles to present Mars Day, July 19th (Saturday). Along with the normal exhibits on display at the CMSC, there will be plenty of activities available for guests to learn all about Earth’s tiny, rusty brother in our solar system. Topics the activities will cover include the different rovers that have landed on Mars, what it takes to fly and land on Mars, possible colony designs for future Martian exploration, and even get a chance to drive a model rover over a simulated Martian terrain. John Callas, project manager of NASA’s Mars Exploration Rover project, will be the keynote speaker at the event.
All activities will be included in the $5 admission to the CMSC (CMSC Members and children 3 and younger are free).
