From June 24th and until the end of this month, LAUSD is offering a Summer of Learning, open to every one of its 500,000 K-12 students in district-operated schools. In addition to traditional subjects like math and English, there are 42 enrichment courses, including “The Voyage of the Titanic,” involving director James Cameron, a course on space exploration with with The Columbia Memorial Space Center and guitar lessons from the makers of Fender guitars. The Los Angeles Clippers are also part of a class on the science, nutrition and medicine of sports.
