New Matter donates 3D printers to the Columbia Memorial Space Center in Downey

Excerpt: Students at the Columbia Memorial Space Center in Downey are getting hands-on experience with 3D printers with help from New Matter.

The Pasadena-based company just donated five of its MOD-t 3D printers to the facility’s Challenger Learning Center as part of the initial phase of a recently announced Challenger Center-New Matter partnership.

The printers have already been integrated into the center’s 3D printing summer camp, where they’ve been used to help teach the basics of 3D printing as well as 3D designing and prototyping. The Downey center also plans to integrate them into its Girls in STEM club and its Saturday Science programs which allow guests of the facility to explore technology with hands-on experiences.
